The vacancies are distributed among UR, SC, ST, OBC NCL and EWS categories. In addition, 20 posts, including 10 backlog posts, are reserved horizontally for PwBD candidates. Around 38 posts are reserved horizontally for Ex-Servicemen as per Government guidelines.
Candidates must remember that they can apply for only one post.
Educational Qualification
The required educational qualification depends on the post.
Operator HEMM Grade III
Candidates must have passed 10th standard with ITI in Mechanic Motor Vehicle trade of two years duration or Diesel Mechanic trade of one year duration. They must also have an Apprenticeship Certificate in the same trade. A valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence is mandatory. First Aid Training Certificate is desirable.
Mining Mate Grade III
Candidates must have passed 10th standard and must possess a valid Mining Mate Certificate of Competency restricted to Opencast Metalliferous Mines issued by DGMS. First Aid Certificate is preferable.
Junior Foreman Mines
Candidates must have a Diploma in Mining or Mining Engineering. They must also possess a valid Mining Foreman Certificate of Competency restricted to Opencast Metalliferous Mines issued by DGMS.
Junior Foreman Electrical
Candidates must have a full-time Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university or institution. They must also possess a valid Supervisory Certificate of Competency issued by the Electrical Licensing Board of Odisha for mining installations.
SUPT JOT Operator and Operator Grade III
Candidates must have passed 10th standard with ITI in Electronics Mechanic, Technician Mechatronics, Electrician, Instrumentation, Instrument Mechanic or Fitter trade of two years duration. An Apprenticeship Certificate is required.
SUPT JOT Fitter and Technician Fitter Grade III
Candidates must have passed 10th standard with ITI in Fitter trade of two years duration. Apprenticeship Certificate is mandatory.
SUPT JOT Electrical and Technician Electrical Grade III
Candidates must have passed 10th standard with ITI in Electrician trade of two years duration. Apprenticeship Certificate is required.
SUPT JOT Laboratory
Candidates must have B.Sc. Honours in Chemistry.
SUPT JOT Instrumentation and Technician Instrumentation Grade III
Candidates must have passed 10th standard with ITI in Instrumentation or Instrument Mechanic trade of two years duration. Apprenticeship Certificate is required.
Only full-time qualifications from recognized institutions will be accepted. Equivalent qualification claims will not be accepted.
Age Limit
The age limit will be calculated as on 10 June 2026.
For SUPT/JOT fresher posts, the upper age limit is 27 years for UR/EWS, 30 years for OBC NCL and 32 years for SC/ST candidates.
For Operator, Technician and Mining Mate Grade III posts, the upper age limit is 35 years for UR/EWS, 38 years for OBC NCL and 40 years for SC/ST candidates.
For Junior Foreman posts, the upper age limit is 40 years for UR/EWS, 43 years for OBC NCL and 45 years for SC/ST candidates.
PwBD candidates will get additional relaxation as per rules. The maximum upper age limit after all relaxations should not exceed 56 years.
Land Ousted candidates of M&R Complex, Damanjodi can have a maximum age of 40 years, with additional relaxation as applicable.
Application Fee
General, OBC NCL and EWS candidates must pay ₹100 as application fee.
SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, Land Ousted candidates and internal candidates are exempted from fee payment.
The fee is non-refundable. Candidates should check their eligibility before paying the fee.

For some SUPT/JOT posts, selection will be based on CBT only. For Operator, Technician, Mining Mate and Junior Foreman posts, selection will be based on CBT and Trade Test.
For posts where both CBT and Trade Test are applicable, CBT will carry 60 percent weightage and Trade Test will carry 40 percent weightage.
CBT Exam Pattern
The Computer Based Test will have 100 multiple-choice questions.
Each question will carry one mark.
The total duration will be 120 minutes.
The paper will include 60 percent technical questions and 40 percent non-technical questions.
Non-technical questions may include Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, General Knowledge and English.
There will be no negative marking.
The CBT will be conducted in English and Hindi only.
Tentative CBT Cities
The exam may be conducted in cities such as Visakhapatnam, Guwahati, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Delhi NCR, Angul, Balasore, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Koraput, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Chennai and Kolkata.
Salary and Benefits
For T0 Grade posts, the pay scale is ₹29,500 – 3% – ₹70,000.
For S0 Grade Junior Foreman posts, the pay scale is ₹36,500 – 3% – ₹1,15,000.
During SUPT training, candidates will receive ₹12,000 per month.
During JOT training, candidates will receive ₹15,000 per month for the first 12 months and ₹15,500 per month for the remaining period.
After placement, candidates will get regular employee benefits such as transport allowance, HRA or housing, site location allowance, leave travel allowance, medical facility, educational facility, PF, gratuity, group insurance, pension and performance-linked incentives.
